Kavita Desai

Kavita Desai is a Partner at James, McElroy & Diehl, P.A., specializing in family law involving child custody, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, and equitable distribution. Prior to their current role, Desai served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston-Downtown, a Staff Attorney at CHILDREN AT RISK, and an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Desai also has experience as a Law Clerk at the New Jersey Supreme Court and as a Legal Intern at the Legal Aid Society – Prisoner’s Rights Project. Desai holds a J.D from Rutgers Law School and a B.A in History and Women’s Studies from Barnard College, Columbia University.
