Birgit Castelein

Birgit Castelein is currently a Stafmedewerker Onderwijs at KU Leuven Campus Kulak Kortrijk since October 2021 and a member of the Burgercommissie at Kom op tegen Kanker since May 2020, providing advisory support on cancer prevention projects. Previously, Birgit served as a Project Manager in Research & Innovation at Divergent - Universiteit Gent from July 2019 to October 2021, emphasizing evidence-based practices. Additional experience includes working as a Universitair Medewerker at UZ Gent and as a Gastprofessor/Post-doctoraal Onderzoeker at Universiteit Gent, where responsible for teaching, research project oversight, and guiding master's students. Birgit holds a Doctorate in Health Sciences from Universiteit Gent and a Master’s in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy from Ghent University.
