Manager - Municipal Finance at Janaagraha

Shreshtha Saraswat has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. In 2007, they worked as an Associate Coordinator for the World Congress on Psychology and Spirituality, where they managed logistics and oversaw delegate registration. From 2008 to 2009, they interned at The Hunger Project, where they formulated reports and edited case studies for the organization's annual report. In 2010, Shreshtha interned at both the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, and Invest India Micro Pension Services. In 2012, they worked as a Field Investigator for the Foundation for Agrarian Studies. From 2014 to 2016, Shreshtha served as a Research Assistant at Jawaharlal Nehru Vishvavidyalaya with the RBI Chair Cell. Shreshtha worked as a Research Fellow at the Society for Social and Economic Research from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they joined NITI Aayog as a Young Professional in Infrastructure Connectivity. Shreshtha also held the position of Policy Consultant at the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance from 2018 to 2021, where they focused on infrastructure policy and finance. Currently, they are the Manager - Municipal Finance at the Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy, a position they started in November 2021.

Shreshtha Saraswat has pursued a comprehensive education in the field of economics. Shreshtha began their academic journey at Delhi Public School - R. K. Puram from 1999 to 2006. Following this, they attended Lady Shri Ram College for Women where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics, although the specific start and end years for this degree are unknown. Continuing their studies, they enrolled at Jawaharlal Nehru Vishvavidyalaya and completed their Master's degree in Economics from 2009 to 2011. Shreshtha then pursued an academic path specializing in Economics and obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from the same university between 2011 and 2014. Additionally, they received a UGC-NET Certification in Economics from the University Grants Commission in September 2013.
