Lina Ma has a wealth of work experience in the field of pharmacology. Lina has been in the field since 2003, when they earned their Master's in Genetics from Nankai University. Lina then earned their Master's in Life Science from The University of Edinburgh in 2006, followed by their PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the same university in 2011. From 2011 to 2015, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Lina then moved to WuXi AppTec, where they worked as a Principal Scientist in the departments of Oncology and Immunology and Translational Medicine and Diagnostics from 2015 to 2017. During this time, they established an integrated Immuno-Oncology functional assay platform, designed and validated FACS panels for phenotypic analysis of cell populations, and developed a NGS-based cancer diagnostics assay. From 2017 to 2018, they worked at Synthorx Inc and Synthorx, a Sanofi company, as a Scientist I, Senior Scientist, and Scientist II. In their roles, they wrote and reviewed in vitro and in vivo pharmacology reports used in IND filing, and led the efforts of outsourcing animal studies to CROs. In 2021, they began their current role as Associate Director in Pharmacology at Janux Therapeutics.
Lina Ma began their educational journey in 1999 when they earned their Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Hebei Normal University. Lina then went on to earn their Master's Degree in Genetics from Nankai University in 2006. The following year, they earned their Master's Degree in Life Science from The University of Edinburgh. In 2010, they completed their PhD in Biomedical Sciences, General from The University of Edinburgh. In 2013, they completed a Certificate in Life Science Immersion Program from the BIOCOM Institute. In December 2014, they obtained a MB (ASCP) Technologist in Molecular Biologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
