Hiroyuki Okamoto

Hiroyuki Okamoto is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in spacecraft systems and technology research. Currently serving as an Associate Senior Researcher at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency since June 2016, Hiroyuki specializes in active debris removal and related technologies. Prior to this role, Hiroyuki held multiple management positions at Sandvik, including Production Manager and Engineering Manager, and worked as a freelance individual engineer and consultant focused on spacecraft systems. Hiroyuki's career also includes a significant tenure as Chief Engineer at Astro Research Corporation, where responsibilities encompassed spacecraft systems, and as an engineer at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, focusing on spacecraft propulsion subsystems. Hiroyuki earned a Doctor of Engineering degree in Aerospace Engineering from Kyushu University, complemented by studies at RWTH Aachen University.
