Mel is a knowledge-leader in BIM implementation and development in New Zealand. She was instrumental in rolling out practice-wide adoption of BIM specialist modelling software Revit to Jasmax in 2005. This enabled Jasmax to be one of the earliest adopters of this tool in the country.
Today as Digital Delivery Lead Mel continues to advance Jasmax’s application of BIM in our projects. Working alongside a BIM & PIM specialist, Mel’s role is vital for developing individual strategic plans for our clients, and sourcing additional tools to enhance and aid collaboration with our consultant partners. This contributes to the overall efficiency of documentation output and ultimately streamlines project delivery to be on time and on budget. Recent projects Mel and her team have contributed to are AUT's Engineering, Technology & Design (ETD) building, Ara Institute's Kahukura (Architecture & Engineering School), the University of Otago's Dental School, and Auckland's transformational City Rail Link.
Mel has a clear vision for the value of BIM and its application in project delivery. Her passion and determination for advancing the technology in New Zealand’s design and construction industry has led her to become a regular speaker at industry events both in Australia and America, for example BILT ANZ (Buildings Infrastructure Lifecycle and Technology) and BILT North America.
Mel was a vital contributor towards the development of the ANZRS (Australian New Zealand Revit Standards) and the New Zealand BIM Handbook – the guiding documentation for the country.
