As Principal and Head of Design at Jasmax, Shannon Joe is responsible for shaping the design direction of the practice nationwide. Highly regarded for his design expertise, Shannon sees architecture as a tool to create people-centric spaces that empower and inspire people.

Shannon excels in extracting the vision, objectives and strategy for the project and transposing that into the design with clarity and concision. His design process is highly collaborative, working closely with clients, stakeholders and the community.

Shannon is widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s leading architects, with a heavyweight portfolio that showcases his rare ability to deliver design excellence across multiple sectors. His passion for design is reflected in the quality and integrity of his work, which is regularly recognised in national and international awards. Some stand-out projects Shannon has led include Bowen Campus in Wellington, the XVth Pacific Games Village in Papua New Guinea, University of Auckland Waipārūrū Hall, and the Waterview Connection in Auckland; all delivered while Shannon was a Principal at Warren and Mahoney.

Shannon chairs the Auckland Urban Design Panel, an independent body within Auckland Council which reviews the proposed designs of significant projects in Auckland. He is a member of Jasmax’s executive board and leadership team.
