Andrea Burke

Andrea Burke has extensive experience in the field of intellectual property law. Andrea is currently serving as the Vice President & Senior Associate General Counsel, IP & Access to Medications at Jazz Pharmaceuticals since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property at Jazz Pharmaceuticals from April 2022 to September 2022.

Before joining Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Andrea held various positions at Astellas Pharma US. Andrea served as the Vice President, IP Legal - Commercial, Trademarks & IP Litigation from April 2020 to April 2022. Prior to that, they were the Executive Director & Deputy General Counsel, IP from January 2017 to April 2020, and the Senior Director & Associate General Counsel, IP from January 2015 to January 2017.

Andrea's work experience also includes serving as an Intellectual Property Counsel at W.L. Gore & Associates from January 2011 to January 2015, and as a Senior IP Counsel at Synthes from April 2009 to December 2010.

Andrea started their career at GSK, where they worked as a Senior Patent Counsel from June 2007 to April 2009, and as a Patent Counsel from August 2002 to June 2007. Prior to that, they served as a Patent Counsel at Procter & Gamble from August 2000 to September 2002.

Andrea's work experience also includes a role as a Pulp Mill Production Engineer at Lincoln Pulp & Paper from May 1993 to August 1997.

Andrea Burke attended Penobscot Valley High School from 1987 to 1991. Andrea then pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Maine from 1991 to 1995. Following their undergraduate studies, Andrea enrolled at the University of Maine School of Law and obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from 1997 to 2000.
