Chris Ward

Chris Ward has extensive experience in engineering leadership within the automotive and power systems sectors. Currently serving as Chief Engineer - Engines at JCB since July 2020, Chris previously held multiple managerial roles at JCB Power Systems from June 2008 to July 2020, including Quality Manager, Design Manager, and Programme Manager, overseeing design engineering activities and product development for JCB engine lines. Prior to this, Chris contributed as a Principal Engineer focused on off-highway diesel engine design and validation. Chris's career began at Ricardo as a Senior Project Engineer, working on engine development and calibration projects, and included an early role as an Undergraduate Engineer at Group Lotus plc. Academically, Chris holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, complemented by qualifications from Boston Grammar School.
