Currently, Matthew Hong works as a Project Manager at JDS Development Group since June 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Structural Engineer at Gilsanz Murray Steficek from January 2016 to June 2019. In this role, they performed structural analysis for various types of buildings and developed relationships with building owners for future projects. From September 2014 to May 2015, Matthew worked as a Senior Lab Assistant at Columbia University, where they performed specialty materials testing and assisted in managing capital improvement plans. Before that, they had a structural engineering internship at Grimm & Chen Structural Engineering from 2011 to 2014, designing structural systems for commercial and retail projects. Additionally, Matthew worked as an Academic Tutor at Blinn College from January 2011 to December 2013.
Matthew Hong, P.E. obtained a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering from Columbia University in 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Summer Study Abroad in Civil Engineering at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in 2013. In 2009, they received a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
In addition to their educational background, Matthew Hong, P.E. holds certifications as a Professional Engineer in both New York and California. Matthew obtained the Professional Engineer certification from the New York State Education Department in June 2019, and from the California Department of Consumer Affairs in June 2018.
