Jaime Abels

Jaime Abels is an experienced field engineer currently working at JDS Group of Companies since August 2022, specializing in the technical and project pre-planning for surface mine and tunneling projects worldwide. Previous experience includes serving as a Safety Coordinator for Sabina Gold & Silver Corp., where a safety program was developed for an exploration mine site in Nunavut, and as a Safety Advisor at Procon Mining, managing underground safety programs and conducting incident investigations. Jaime also worked as a Mine Engineering Student at Pretium Resources Inc., contributing to underground design and ventilation engineering, and gained early experience as a Blast Crew Summer Student at Teck Resources Limited, assisting with blast preparation and initiation. Jaime holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering from The University of British Columbia, completed in 2021.
