James Crater

James Crater has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2010, they worked as a Field Sales Manager at Vector Marketing, where they marketed kitchen cutlery and trained other representatives. From 2011 to 2013, they served as an Opinion Columnist at The Vanderbilt Hustler and as a Voices Contributor at NextGen Journal, showcasing their writing skills. In 2011, they also worked as a Student Worker at Vanderbilt University.

In 2012, James joined Local Search Masters as the Director of Content and Social Media Marketing, where they wrote content for various B2B and B2C companies and implemented strategies to generate buzz about products and brands. James also worked as an SEO Analysis and Copywriting Intern during this time.

In 2014, James became an Advisor at Spotwise, Real-time Parking Analytics, and provided their expertise to the company until 2018.

In 2015, James co-founded Spera Health, a behavioral healthcare technology firm that aimed to improve treatment experiences for patients and providers. James served as the Co-Founder & CEO and Product Manager until the company was acquired by 180 Health Partners in 2019.

After the acquisition, James joined 180 Health Partners as a Manager of Product Development. In this role, they created and managed an agile development process for the StrongWell Virtual Community, a social network catering to the needs of mothers. James worked closely with the CEO, CMO, and VP of Business Technology to prioritize the product roadmap, oversaw the development process, and conducted user interviews to identify opportunities for improvement. James also analyzed engagement metrics, collaborated with the design team, and met with external technology partners.

Most recently, James has taken on the role of Lead Product Manager, Platform at Jeenie, starting in 2023.

James Crater completed their primary and secondary education at Jesuit High School in Tampa, FL, from 2005 to 2009. James then pursued higher education at Vanderbilt University from 2009 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Their major field of study at Vanderbilt included Philosophy, Political Science, with a minor in Corporate Strategy. Additionally, they obtained various certifications including Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance in April 2020. James also obtained certifications in Google Analytics and Google AdWords from Google in July 2013 and July 2012 respectively.
