Peter Gehres

Peter Gehres has a broad range of work experience in the auction industry. Peter started their career in 2006 as an Instructor at The Ohio Auction School, where they taught ethics and bid calling. In 2010, they also became an Instructor at Reppert School of Auctioneering.

In 2011, Gehres founded BELHORN AUCTIONS, LLC, a specialty auction firm focusing on the sale of American Art Pottery and related items. Peter served as the Owner and Auctioneer, conducting 5-10 live auction events each year, as well as timed online auction sessions.

Gehres has also held various roles as an Auctioneer at different companies. From 2014 to 2021, they worked at RES Auction Services, where they were involved in the launch of heavy construction and agricultural equipment auctions. Peter also managed marketing efforts for the company. Peter was an Auctioneer at Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, participating in the management of block operations and supporting the auction team. Gehres worked as an Auctioneer at Akron Auto Auction from 2014 to 2021 and at Southern Auto Auction from 2019 to 2021. Peter briefly served as an Auctioneer at Value Auto Auction LLC in 2021.

In 2019, Gehres became a Director at the National Auctioneers Association, a position they held until 2022. Currently, they are the Chief Operating Officer at Jeff Martin Auctioneers, Inc, where they oversee and enhances all aspects of auction operations, including integrating recent acquisitions and streamlining existing processes. Overall, Gehres has gained extensive experience in the auction industry, holding various leadership and instructional roles throughout their career.

Peter Gehres has a diverse education history. Peter received their Master of Divinity degree in Leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary between 2019 and 2024. Prior to that, they attended Hondros College of Business in 2007, where they obtained a certificate in Real Estate. From 1999 to 2006, Peter pursued a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture at The Ohio State University, specializing in Ag, Environmental, & Developmental Economics and Ag & Biological Engineering. Additionally, in 2003, they obtained a certificate in Auctioneer from The Ohio Auction School. Peter's educational journey started at Crestview High School, where they received their High School Diploma in 1999.

Peter Gehres also holds several certifications. Peter obtained the Contract Auctioneer Specialist (CAS) certification from the National Auctioneers Association in September 2017. In September 2009, they earned the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) certification from the same institution. In 2007, Peter became a Licensed Real Estate Sales Person in Ohio through the Ohio Department of Commerce. Prior to that, in 2005, they obtained a Licensed Auctioneer certification from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Lastly, they earned the Certified Estate Specialist (CES) certification from the National Auctioneers Association in 2006.
