LeRoy Northam has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. LeRoy began their career in 1978, working as a supervisor at Allstate until 1983. In 1988, they joined Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC as the Chief Information Officer and stayed with the company for an unknown period. At the same time, they also took on the role of Systems Conversion Manager at Fingerhut, where they worked from 1988 to 2002. In 2014, Northam became the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at WACOSA, a position they held until 2023. Additionally, they have been a competition judge at Minnesota DECA since 2016, with an expected end date of 2023.

LeRoy Northam has an extensive education history. LeRoy obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on management from Grand Valley State University, which they attended from 1978 to 1980. During the same period, they also pursued an Associate in Arts degree in general studies from Grand Rapids Community College.

Before attending college, LeRoy Northam completed their high school education at Greenville High School from 1974 to 1978, where they obtained a college prep diploma.

Later, LeRoy Northam furthered their education by earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in General Management and Personnel Management from Grand Valley State University, which they completed from 1984 to 1986.

In addition to their formal education, LeRoy Northam has obtained several certifications. In July 2019, they became a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB™), which was awarded by the Six Sigma Institute. In March 2019, they completed the Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning course from LinkedIn. LeRoy also acquired the ITIL 4 Foundation certification from PeopleCert/AXELOS in March 2019.
