Paola Vilaxa

Paola Vilaxa is an experienced professional currently serving as the Manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Edgewater Library at Jefferson County Public Library since April 2017. In this role, Paola ensures equitable access to information and library services for diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, immigrants, BIPOC communities, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Previous positions at the library include Core Service Coordinator, Outreach Librarian, and Bilingual PX Associate, where Paola focused on showcasing library services, developing Spanish collections, and providing customer service in both English and Spanish. Prior to the library, Paola offered Spanish tutoring, translation, and interpretation services, and served as a Latin America Specialist for ELI Abroad. Paola holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and two degrees in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from Universidad de Playa Ancha.
