Dr. Ferki Ferati is a highly experienced leader and educator currently serving as President, Vice President, and Executive Director of the Jefferson Educational Society since September 2008. In addition, Dr. Ferati holds a position as a Scientific Advisory Board Member for the Center for Astrophysics at Harvard & Smithsonian, contributing to the Galileo Project, which seeks to mainstream the search for extraterrestrial technological signatures. Since June 2022, Dr. Ferati has been a Steering Committee Member at Infinite Erie and a County Advisory Committee Member for America250PA, which focuses on the 250th anniversary of the United States. Dr. Ferati's previous roles also include Board Member at Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority and Commissioner and Executive Director for the Perry 200 Commemoration. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Education from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master's in Public Administration from Gannon University, and a Bachelor's in Intelligence Studies from Mercyhurst University.

Jefferson Educational Society
The Jefferson Educational Society was created as a non-profit organization with the Pennsylvania Department of State on September 29, 2008. Its mission includes a commitment to operate in a bi-partisan, non-denominational manner without a political or philosophical bias. As such, the Jefferson Educational Society follows the examined truth wherever it leads and is neither liberal nor conservative, democrat nor republican in philosophy or in preference. The Jefferson Educational Society promotes civic enlightenment and community progress for the Erie region through the study, research, and discussion of those ideas and events that have influenced the human condition.
