Emily Hargis

Emily Hargis is a CTE Teacher at Jefferson Parish Public School System since August 2021, bringing a strong background in mechanical engineering from various roles including Mechanical Design Engineer at Point Eight Power and Mechanical Engineer at Techcrane International, LLC. and Semco, LLC. Emily's engineering experience includes analysis of structures using Finite Element Analysis, creation of detailed drawings for shipyard construction, and overseeing fabrication processes, all compliant with relevant codes such as ABS, USCG, API, and ISO. Emily holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, where notable projects included the design and construction of a self-powered lift platform prototype for a senior design project. Prior roles also included contributions as a summer intern and clerical support at Semco, LLC.
