Ian Gardiner

Ian Gardiner is a seasoned venture capital professional and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the startup ecosystem. Currently serving as a Partner at Jelix Ventures since September 2018, Ian focuses on seed-stage investments in Australian tech startups. Co-founder of Innovation Bay, Ian fosters a vibrant community for founders and investors in Australia and New Zealand. Ian also oversees business development for Lighter Capital in Australia since June 2020, providing non-dilutive debt capital to startups. A member of YPO since 2012, Ian has held various committee roles, enhancing leadership within the organization. Previously, Ian was Head of Startups at Amazon Web Services, where contributions included establishing relationships with the startup community and providing strategic insights to investors. Ian founded Viocorp and lastorders.com, and served as Managing Director at NewsBase. Ian holds a degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from the University of Oxford and is a graduate of the Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
