Nicholas Arcolano

Head of Research at Jellyfish

Nicholas Arcolano is the Head of Research at Jellyfish. Nicholas has over fifteen years of experience in data science and analytics, and has worked with some of the world's leading companies in this field. Prior to joining Jellyfish, they were the Data Science Team Lead, Analytics & Insights at TrueMotion, where they were responsible for the company's business intelligence, mobile analytics, A/B testing, user personalization and messaging platforms, and actuarial scoring technologies.

Before TrueMotion, Arcolano was a Senior Data Scientist at Runkeeper, where they led user modeling and testing efforts and research and development of data-driven product features. Nicholas was also the primary owner of data stories and visualizations and external research projects with key partners such as Spaulding National Running Center and MIT SENSEable City Lab. Arcolano has worked with data across different modalities such as unstructured data, time series, geospatial data, social networks using a variety of technologies and languages including Python, PostgreSQL, Javascript/D3.

Arcolano began their career as a Technical Staff member at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2003. Nicholas has since held various positions of increasing responsibility in data science and analytics. Nicholas holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Nicholas Arcolano studied electrical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Nicholas then pursued a Master of Science in electrical engineering at Boston University. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy in applied mathematics from Harvard University.

Nicholas Arcolano reports to Andrew Lau, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Katherine Bove - Director of People Operations, Evan Klein - Head of Product Marketing, and Joanne Cheng - CFO.
