Maria Vargas

Maria Vargas has a diverse work experience in various roles. In 2014, they worked as a Design Intern at Leonisa S.A., where they edited tech packs using Illustrator and conducted quality control. Later that year, they joined Nihongo Club Medellin as a Director, Costume Designer, and Actress, where they wrote and directed theater plays for kids, managed a team of over 30 members, and improved costume designs. In 2017, they worked as a Product Development/Design Intern at Jenny Yoo Collection, where they sourced fabric and appliques, hand-sewed appliques and trims, and managed inventory using Excel and Access. In 2019, they continued their journey at Jenny Yoo Collection as an Assistant Technical Designer and later transitioned to the role of Associate Technical Designer. Throughout their time at Jenny Yoo Collection, Maria developed design mockups, measured and spec'd samples for quality control, inspected fabric yardage, and organized different fabrications accordingly.

Maria Vargas has a diverse education history in the field of fashion. Maria began their education at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Fashion Business Management from 2015 to 2017. Maria then pursued further education at the same institution, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Fashion Business Management from 2018 to 2019. In addition to their studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Maria attended a summer intensive program at the Parsons School of Design - The New School in 2015.
