Thomas Shaw

Thomas Shaw is an experienced professional in policy advisory and risk management, currently serving as an Innovation Hub Senior Policy Advisor at the Jersey Financial Services Commission since February 2023. Prior to this role, Thomas held the position of Operational Risk Manager at Standard Bank Group from February 2019 to June 2022, where responsibilities included preparing monthly risk reports and ensuring compliance with BCBS 239 standards. Additionally, Thomas worked as a Tax Manager at PwC, managing a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, and served as an Assistant Tax Advisor at Ernst & Young, where tax computations for large UK PLCs were completed. Thomas has also contributed to the field as a conference speaker and gained early experience as a Planning Assistant with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Academic qualifications include a Postgraduate Masters in Urban Development Planning from UCL and a 2:1 Bachelor's degree in Town and Country Planning from the University of Manchester.
