Paul Cashin

Director Medical Services at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital

Paul Cashin was appointed to the role of Director, Medical Services at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital in January 2016.

Paul graduated from Monash University in 1984; he trained in General Surgery at the Repatriation General Hospital, Heidelberg, graduating in 1997. Having spent time in the United Kingdom, he returned to Australia to complete Upper GI Surgical training at Monash Medical Centre.

Paul is currently the Director of Upper GI/HPB Surgery at Monash Health and he practices as a luminal Upper GI Surgeon in public and private; he has been an active surgeon at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital for nearly 20 years. He has particular interests in oesphago-gastric cancer, reflux disease, oesophageal motility disorders and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Dept. of Surgery, Southern Clinical School at Monash University.

Paul acts as Medical Advisor to the Kitaya Holdings Board of Directors, and he participates in the Kitaya Board Quality Committee. He is also Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital.

In his role as Director, Medical Services, Paul oversees medical governance and accreditation including areas such as patient care and quality outcomes, the patient experience, medical credentialing and scope of practice, research, new technologies and medical ethics.
