Besa H. Bauta, PhD, MPH, MSW is an accomplished leader in the fields of information technology, mental health, and social work. Currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services since May 2023, Besa oversees technology initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of children and families in one of the largest nonprofit mental health agencies in the United States. As an Assistant Professor at New York University - Silver School of Social Work since 2011, Besa focuses on social science theories, mental health, research methods, and public health. Prior roles include Chief Data and Analytics Officer for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Chief Analytics Officer at Precision Human Services, and Chief Data Officer/Chief Compliance Officer at MercyFirst, among others. Besa's extensive education includes a PhD in Health Services Research from New York University and a Fellowship in Psychoanalysis from the Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences.
