Derek Coursen

Derek Coursen has extensive work experience in data analytics and informatics. Derek currently holds the role of Assistant Vice President of Data Analytics at JCCA. Before that, they ran their own consulting firm, Derek Coursen Consulting LLC. Derek has also held leadership positions at Public Health Solutions and the Vera Institute of Justice, where they oversaw information management and application development projects. Furthermore, they have experience in academia as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Administration at New York University. Derek began their career as a Librarian at Queens Library before transitioning to a Data Coordinator role.

Derek Coursen has a strong educational background in various fields. Derek earned a Master of Science in Management from New York University, attending from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science in Information Systems at Pace University between 1996 and 1998. Lastly, Derek completed their first Master of Science in Information & Library Science at Pratt Institute, studying from 1994 to 1996. These educational experiences show Derek's dedication to gaining knowledge in multiple areas, which could contribute to their expertise in diverse fields.
