Sonya Solomon Piell

Sonya Solomon Piell has a diverse work experience. Sonya Solomon is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS) since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Corporate Finance Director at HIMSS from July 2021 to December 2022. Sonya Solomon also served as an Accounting Manager at the Muscular Dystrophy Association from October 2016 to July 2021, and as a Strategic Finance Manager at Daniels Sharpsmart from November 2012 to September 2016. Additionally, they held roles such as Assistant Controller at Edline, Board Member at Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, and Center Accountant at National Surgical Care. Sonya Solomon has volunteer experience at the Lincoln Park Zoo and Operation Hope. Sonya has a strong background in financial management, accounting, and leadership roles.

Sonya Solomon Piell earned a BA in Philosophy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2001. Sonya Solomon later pursued a Masters in Accountancy from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago, completing it in 2006. In 2017, they began working towards becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
