Farana Samad is an experienced professional currently serving as the Assistant Director for Refugee Integration at the Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts since June 2020, with prior roles including Youth Program Coordinator and Learning Specialist. Farana's expertise includes facilitating educational programs for clients, designing workshops for refugee youth, and conducting outreach for mentoring initiatives. Previously, Farana held various positions at UMass Amherst School of Public Health & Health Sciences as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Advisor, completed a Research Internship at icddr,b, and served as a translator and interpreter for the Bangladesh Accord. Farana has a background in medicine, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, complemented by a Master of Public Health from UMass Amherst.
