Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes has a diverse work experience in various roles and settings. Ashlyn is currently the owner of Learn Bariatric Psychological Assessments, where they provide training and resources for completing bariatric psychological assessments. Prior to this, Ashlyn served as the Clinical Director at Jewish Family Services, where they significantly increased counseling sessions, insurance income, and overall income. Ashlyn also hired and supervised a team of clinicians and implemented various clinical programs. Ashlyn has also worked as a private practice owner, a contract therapist, a subject-matter expert, and a social worker in various healthcare and counseling organizations. Ashlyn has expertise in working with clients diagnosed with a range of mental health disorders and specialized in Perinatal/Post-Partum Depression, Bariatrics, and First Responder Trauma.

Ashlyn Douglass-Barnes holds a Master's of Social Work degree with a specialization in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University. Ashlyn also has a Bachelor's of Social Work degree from the same institution. Prior to their undergraduate studies, they attended Tallahassee Community College and obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Transfer. In terms of certifications, Ashlyn has been awarded the Emergency Responder and Public Safety Clinician Certification from The National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Center in 2024. Additionally, they are Dare to Lead Trained by Dare to Lead™ Trained in 2021. Ashlyn is also a Qualified Supervisor in Social Work/Marriage & Family, as recognized by the Florida Department of Health in 2015. Ashlyn holds a Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 Certificate of Completion from The Gottman Institute in 2014. Furthermore, Ashlyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the Florida Department of Health, obtained in April 2013.
