Morris Jobke

Morris Jobke has extensive experience in the software engineering field. Morris is currently working as a Backend Engineer at Jimdo, a position they started in July 2021. Prior to that, Morris worked at Nextcloud GmbH as a Senior Software Engineer and Co-Founder from June 2016 to June 2021. In this role, they focused on software engineering, architecture, team coordination, and customer feedback. Morris played a key role in coordinating efforts to release stable versions of Nextcloud's server component and in implementing a powerful toolchain for app development and distribution. Before joining Nextcloud GmbH, Morris worked at ownCloud as a Software Engineer, responsible for maintaining and extending the server code base. Morris also contributed to resolving bugs in customer instances. Morris started at ownCloud as a Working Student in January 2014 before transitioning into a Software Engineer role in November 2014. Morris also briefly contributed to the code base as a Contributor from March 2013 to December 2013.

Morris Jobke attended Technische Universität Chemnitz from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computer Science. Morris then continued their studies at the same university from 2012 to 2015, earning a Master of Science degree in High Performance & Cloud Computing.
