Michael Taverna

Michael Taverna is an experienced educator and professional with a diverse background in teaching and service roles. Since September 2021, Michael serves as a Teacher with the Vancouver School Board while also working as a Cashier at JJ Bean Coffee Roasters. Prior experience includes positions as an Elementary School Teacher with the Catholic Independent Schools Vancouver Archdiocese from August 2020 to September 2021, and as an Occasional Teacher for both the Durham and York Catholic District School Boards from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, Michael held the role of Swim Director at Camp Robin Hood, overseeing a team of 25 swim instructors and implementing swim programs for over 800 campers. A brief internship with the Digital Learning Team at TVO involved contributing to digital educational resources and supporting student engagement. Michael holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics from Queen's University, completed in 2019 and 2018, respectively.
