James Guido

James Guido, CPA has extensive work experience in accounting and finance. James'smost recent role was as the VP, Chief Accounting Officer at J. Jill, a position they have held since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Corporate and Technical Accounting at Party City Holdings Inc. from February 2021 to September 2022.

James has also worked as a Technical Accounting Consultant at Robert Half Management Resources from November 2020 to February 2021. James'searlier experience includes serving as the VP, Assistant Controller at Viacom from October 2017 to July 2020 and as the VP, Technical Accounting from December 2007 to September 2017.

Before joining Viacom, James worked at Pfizer as the Director of Accounting Policy and Education from September 2006 to November 2007. James also held various roles at Altria, including Senior Director | Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Research from 2002 to 2006, and Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Research from 1997 to 1999.

James started their career at Ernst & Young, where they served as an Audit Manager from 1992 to 1995. During their time there, they managed and coordinated numerous audit engagements and performed independent technical reviews on client financial statements.

Additionally, James has experience in financial reporting and control assessment, as well as providing comprehensive analysis and implementing new accounting standards. James has prepared technical accounting guidance, accounting policies, and conducted impact assessments for business acquisitions and divestitures, revenue recognition, leases, and complex business transactions. James has also provided training on accounting policies to finance teams.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and standards.

James Guido, CPA holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the New York Institute of Technology. James is also a Certified Public Accountant certified by the state of New York.
