Melanie Gorter's work experience includes holding the position of Member Support Lead at NCSA College Recruiting since October 2022. In this role, they manage various forms of customer contact, handles financial inquiries, and resolves escalations. Prior to this, they worked as the Head Coach and College Recruiter at JJVA - Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association starting in October 2021. Additionally, Melanie has experience as a Social Media and Logistics Assistant Director and Tour Guide at Bring it Promotions since June 2016. Melanie has also worked as a teacher at St. Johns County School District from July 2021 to June 2023. Their coaching experience includes being a JV Girls Volleyball Coach at The Latin School of Chicago from June 2019 to July 2022, serving as a Head Coach at Division1 Volleyball Club from October 2017 to July 2022, and working as a Girls Volleyball Coach at Rolling Thunder VBC from 2009 to 2011. Melanie also has a teaching background, having worked as a Physical Education Teacher and Varsity Volleyball Coach at Chicago Public Schools from August 2010 to July 2022, and as a Physical Educator. Furthermore, they served as the Head Volleyball Coach at City Colleges of Chicago-Malcolm X College from June 2018 to February 2019.
Melanie Gorter has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science and Secondary Education from Central College, which they obtained from 2005 to 2009. Melanie also completed a Driver Education Endorsement in Physical Education from Chicago State University in 2008. Furthermore, Melanie pursued a Master of Arts degree in Leadership Studies with a focus on Higher Education Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, which they completed in 2020. Additionally, from 2017 to 2020, they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, also from Concordia University Chicago.

JJVA
JJVA (Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association) is the oldest and largest youth volleyball sports association in the state of Florida. JJVA offers volleyball programs for boys and girls of all ages and all skill levels. Its programs range from beginners and recreational players to elite college-bound athletes. Founded by three area coaches in 1989, JJVA has introduced volleyball to tens of thousands of players in its years of operation. In the past 30 years, this association has grown from 3 teams, 30 players, and 3 coaches, to 65 teams, over 600 players, and 80+ coaches in the 2017-18 season. The main focus of JJVA is the development of the sport and its players for the purpose of skill development and lifetime enjoyment.
