Anuj Kathuria

President, India at JK Tyre & Industries

With an illustrious career spanning over 30 + years, Mr. Kathuria’s professional journey is studded with diverse experience in the automotive industry covering sales & marketing, operations, manufacturing, sourcing and supply chain, mergers & acquisitions, and new product introduction & program management.

Prior to joining JK Tyre, Mr. Kathuria was associated with Ashok Leyland where he held several leadership positions. As the Chief Operating Officer, he had the P&L responsibility for the Medium and Heavy Commercial vehicle business. Under his leadership, the company achieved many milestones including Ashok Leyland's all-time best 1,50,000 vehicle sales in 2017 and the coveted "Deming Prize" for two consecutive years (2016 & 2017), in automobile industry. He led the team to successfully develop and launch the Modular Range of Trucks meeting the BS VI emission norms.

Being a veteran in the automotive industry, Mr. Kathuria has been associated with automobile giants including Tata Motors, Tata Daewoo, Korea. During his stint at Tata Motors, he was the Head of the World Truck Factory and the "Prima" Range of Trucks was launched in both Korean and Indian markets under his leadership.

As an industry leader, Mr. Kathuria was the Chairman of the Board of Ashok Leyland Subsidiaries viz Ashley Alteams, AL UAE, GTVS and VBCL. He also served on the board of Gro Digital Solutions - a joint venture between Ashok Leyland and Hinduja Leyland Finance. He also represented the company in bodies such as CII, SIAM and ACMA.

A Graduate in engineering from BITS, Sindri and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from XLRI, Jamshedpur, Mr. Kathuria also holds the Advanced Management Program (AMP) Certification from the prestigious, Harvard Business School.

Mr. Kathuria believes to lead by example in every walk of life. He is a sports enthusiast and has represented his college at cricket, volleyball, basketball, and Table Tennis. He also played the Officers league of the Ranji Trophy in the early 90's.
