Al Rubeling, Jr. FAIA is a seasoned architect and academic with extensive experience in both professional practice and education. Currently serving as a Board Member at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson since April 2015, Rubeling has been a Senior Vice President and Senior Architect Advisor at JMT Architecture since August 1981. In addition to professional roles, Rubeling lectures at the University of Maryland School of Architecture, teaching graduate-level courses focused on professional architectural practice and entrepreneurship. Rubeling's leadership experience includes a term as Chancellor of the AIA College of Fellows from December 2014 to December 2015, and former Chair of the AIA Trust from December 2005 to December 2009. Rubeling has also served as a Trustee and Chair for strategic planning at St James' Academy from 2008 to 2012. With a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland, Rubeling's career spans over four decades with a specialization in educational, religious, and community projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
