Andrew joined JMW in October 2018 having worked at a number of firms in the North West over his 30 year career. He has practised exclusively in construction since 1991 and has a deep knowledge and broad experience in that sector.
Andrew has been involved in pursuing and defending adjudications since the Construction Act came into force in 1998 and saw Collateral Warranties ‘become a thing’ before ‘Third Party Rights’ followed.
Nowadays ‘smash and grab’ and ‘true value’ Adjudications are only the tip of the iceberg and building contracts, appointments, warranties and the like are everyday fare in a vibrant industry.
Andrew advises developers, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants on the ever changing range of documents needed to regulate their dealings. These range from amending standard forms to complex bespoke documents. He advises on construction, refurbishment, new build, housing, commercial, civil engineering and, process plant contracts whether part of his project or transactional work or in connection with disputes.
Andrew’s split between dispute resolution and ‘non-contentious’ work benefits both sides of his practice as his experience of drafting and dissecting contract terms provides real world advantages for his clients.
