Julian Richards

Julian joined the employment team at JMW in October 2022 and advises employers, trustees and individuals on all aspects of pensions law.

He advises across the full range of pensions issues, specialising particularly in relation to scheme mergers, solvent restructuring, buy-ins/buyouts, pension issues on corporate transactions, as well as member complaints and grievances.

Julian has almost thirty years’ experience in advising on pensions and is recognised as providing pragmatic, solutions focused, advice and support to clients. He is skilled at explaining complex legislation and scheme documentation, in plain English, to clients to facilitate their decision making processes.

Julian establishes strong working relationships with clients and advisers, many of whom he has worked with for several years, and is highly regarded by them for his high level of technical expertise coupled with his personal approach.
