Brian McMillan

Brian McMillan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of structural biology and biophysics. Brian is currently the Director of Structural Biology and Biophysics at Jnana Therapeutics since March 2023. Prior to this, they were the Director of Biophysics at MOMA Therapeutics from May 2022 to December 2022. Brian also worked at Tango Therapeutics, where they held the positions of Associate Director of Structural Biology & Biophysics from January 2022 to May 2022 and Principal Scientist from December 2019 to January 2022.

McMillan's earlier experience includes their role as a Senior Research Scientist I and Team Lead at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard from January 2018 to December 2019. During this time, they led a drug discovery project team, conducted various experiments, managed SAR data generation, and headed X-ray crystallography and structure-based drug design programs. Brian also led joint projects with pharmaceutical companies, venture capital firms, and academic partner labs. McMillan also worked as a Research Scientist II at the Broad Institute from April 2016 to December 2017.

Before joining the Broad Institute, McMillan had academic experience as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School from 2015 to 2016. Brian also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School from 2008 to 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Invitrogen from 2007 to 2008.

McMillan's early career includes their role as a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2000 to 2007 and as a Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1998 to 2000.
