Salvatore Bellomo

Salvatore Bellomo has a diverse work experience across various industries. Salvatore started their career as an Official Volleyball Referee for the Federazione Italiana Pallavolo from May 2011 to June 2013. Salvatore then worked as a Volley Section Manager in the Amateur sector for CUS Pisa from October 2011 to June 2013, where they were responsible for managing university tournaments and coordinating referees.

In July 2013, Salvatore joined Amadeus IT Group as a Software Development Engineer, where they worked until July 2014.

From September 2017 to 2019, they served as a Data Scientist & Big Data engineer Consultant for WEVO, where they provided support for Big Data solutions and architecture. Their responsibilities included planning, developing, and maintaining data gathering systems in a Big Data environment using NiFi, Kafka, Hadoop Stack, and Elasticsearch. Salvatore also conducted data analysis using machine learning techniques and algorithms.

Salvatore began working at IIT-CNR in November 2014, where they served as a Research Fellow. Their work involved Machine Learning prototypes, specifically targeting textual processing and deep learning for activities like topic modeling, language identification, and tweet classification. Salvatore also worked on European projects like Cassandra, SoBigData, SmartNews, and CRAIM. Salvatore developed software in a distributed environment using tools like Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Elasticsearch, Python, and Scala.

Most recently, Salvatore joined Jobtome in May 2020 as a Data Engineer.

Salvatore Bellomo earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Università di Pisa, which they attended from 2007 to 2010. Salvatore then pursued further education in the field and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Engineering for Enterprise Management from the same university between 2011 and 2014. In addition to their academic qualifications, Salvatore also obtained certifications including the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from PMP in January 2012 and completed the Cisco Networking Academy Program in March 2010.
