Staff Engineer - Integrated Aircraft Team at Joby Aviation

Alan Nieders has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles.

Starting in 1987 at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, they worked as an Engineering Specialist, where they planned and monitored aircraft flight tests and supervised ground test laboratories.

In 1997, they joined Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company as a Systems Engineering Specialist, where they played a role in the development of a geosynchronous, infra-red imaging satellite program. Alan coordinated interface control documents and authored specifications for various spacecraft systems.

From 2012 to 2016, Alan worked at Abbott Diagnostics as a Principal Systems Engineer, focusing on the development of new IVD hematology analyzers. Alan developed system workflows, use cases, and created system models to simulate and analyze architectures.

Alan's most recent work experience is at Joby Aviation, where they started in 2022 as a Staff Engineer in the Integrated Aircraft Team.
