Andrew Ames

Staff Mission Displays Engineer at Joby Aviation

Andrew Ames has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Andrew started their career in 2000 as a Developer Support at Borland and Lutris Technologies. In 2005, they became a Senior Programmer at Santa Cruz Games. From 2009 to 2010, they founded TikiBeast, where they were responsible for acquiring technology and tools for building mobile games. Andrew then worked as an Independent Contractor from 2009 to 2011. In 2010, they became the Chief Technology Officer at LineMonkey Inc., where they were in charge of development and operations for a point of sale system. Andrew joined Cryptic Studios in 2011 as a Core Technology Programmer and later became the Neverwinter Lead Programmer and Server and Infrastructure Lead Programmer. At Cryptic Studios, they developed and maintained various systems for MMORPG game platform. In 2016, Andrew joined Tanzle as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were responsible for software architecture and implementation of high-performance web and native applications. Currently, they are working at Joby Aviation as a Staff Mission Displays Engineer, starting in 2023.

From 2003 to 2005, Andrew Ames pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
