Bruce Croft has a diverse and extensive work history in the aviation industry. Bruce started their career in 1990 as a First Officer for United Express Airlines, flying various aircraft. Bruce then joined Reno Air Express as a Captain in 1994 before the airline ceased operations in 1995. Croft served as the Chief Pilot/Chief Instructor at Palo Alto Flying Club from 1989 to 1996, managing a large fleet of aircraft and instructors.
In 1995, Croft began working at KaiserAir, where they held multiple roles over the span of nearly two decades. Bruce served as a Pilot Training Manual Author for Boeing 737 aircraft, a Senior Captain responsible for executive transport flight operations, a Ground Instructor, and the Manager of Training. During this time, they also developed a Runway Safety & Incursion Risk Reduction Training Program.
Croft's expertise in aviation technical writing led him to roles creating and developing technical publications for aircraft manufacturers. Bruce worked at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd from 2014 to 2018 as the Manager of PC-24 Aircrew Publications, responsible for creating and maintaining project control documents. Bruce then joined Sandel Avionics from 2018 to 2021 as a Configuration Management Engineer and later as the Manager of Avilon Technical Documentation. Bruce led the creation of flight crew technical documentation and evaluated aviation human factors considerations for the Avilon Integrated Flight Deck.
Croft is currently employed at Joby Aviation, where they have held various positions. Bruce was initially the Technical Publications Group Lead from 2021 to 2023. Bruce then became the Manager of Flight Technical Publications in 2021 and has since taken on the role of Aircraft Technical Publications Lead.
Outside of their main career, Croft has also made contributions as a Contributor for the International Association of Flight Training Professionals, Inc. in 2011 and as the owner and photographer of TwoZeroWest Photography since 2008.

Bruce Croft has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from UC Santa Barbara. In 2016, they participated in a program at EAAP, focusing on Human Factors in Flight Safety which covered SMS, Risk Management, and Safety Investigation. Additionally, in the same year, they attended the Lufthansa Flight Training program, specializing in International Human Factors and Safety Conference.
In terms of certifications, Bruce Croft has obtained various type ratings and licenses from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. Bruce holds a Type Rating in B737 (Boeing 737), obtained in March 2011, a Type Rating in G-IV (Gulfstream IV), obtained in February 2004, a Type Rating in G1159 (Gulfstream II/III), obtained in March 2001, a Type Rating in HS125 (Hawker Jet), obtained in April 1997, and a Type Rating in BA3100 (British Aerospace Jetstream), obtained in November 1994. Bruce also possesses an Airline Transport Pilot license, acquired in June 1991, and is a Gold Seal Flight Instructor, certified in March 1990. In addition, they are qualified as a Flight Instructor for Airplane, Single & Multi-Engine and Instrument Airplane, which they obtained in December 1988 and November 1988, respectively. Lastly, they hold a Ground Instructor certification in Advanced & Instrument, received in December 1987.
