Eric Thorne

Eric Thorne has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical engineering. Eric currently works at Joby Aviation as an FPGA Verification Engineer since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Ontera as a Principal Electrical Engineer from April 2019 to December 2021, where they were involved in digital system architecture, board design, and layout, including FPGA design and firmware. Eric also designed boards for the "NanoDetector" product, which included a PCR system with rapid heating and cooling capabilities.

Before joining Ontera, Eric worked at Two Pore Guys, Inc. as an Engineer Guy from February 2016 to April 2019. Eric started their career at Xilinx in 2000 and held various positions including Senior Staff Engineer, Staff Product Engineer, Senior Product Engineer, and Product Engineer. Their responsibilities at Xilinx included automated data translation, developing tests and diagnostic methodologies for 3D products, and working on PPC test and diagnostics for Virtex2Pro.

Eric also gained internship experience at IBM in 1999 and Intel in 1998 and 1997.

Eric Thorne received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1998. Eric later pursued and completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the same university, from 1998 to 2000.
