Gavin Betterley has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Gavin started their career in 2009 as a Section Horn player with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a Choir Director at Soquel High School. In 2014, they served as a Stage Manager at the University of Oregon. Subsequently, they joined the Newport Symphony as a Section Horn player from 2015 to 2017. In 2016, they briefly worked as an Assistant Horn player at Britt Festival. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Help Desk Technician at CrossFit, Inc. Gavin then took on the role of Systems Administrator at CrossFit, LLC from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they are working in Information Technology at Joby Aviation since 2020.

Gavin Betterley has an extensive education history. Gavin obtained a Master's Degree in Music Performance from the University of Oregon, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance and Music Education from Northern Arizona University, attending from 2008 to 2012. Gavin completed their high school education at Soquel High School from 2004 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Gavin has also obtained several certifications. Gavin holds an Oregon Teaching Credential, which they acquired from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in November 2017. Gavin also holds a California Teaching Credential, obtained from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing in March 2013. Furthermore, Gavin obtained an Arizona Teaching Credential from the Arizona Department of Education in February 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, Gavin achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (AAS) certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2020. Gavin also completed the Vim - The Improved Editor certification at Linux Academy in June 2019 and the LPI Linux Essentials certification at the same institution in May 2019.

Furthermore, they completed several courses on Coursera, including "IT Automation: It's not that scary!" in March 2018, "IT Security: Defense against the digital dark arts" in March 2018, "Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User" in February 2018, "System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services" in February 2018, "Technical Support Fundamentals" in January 2018, and "The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking" in January 2018.
