Jorge Ortega

Jorge Ortega began their career as a junior software engineer at McCain in October 2011 and worked there until December 2013. Jorge then joined Plantronics in January 2014 as a firmware engineer, where they designed and developed embedded firmware for ARM-based microcontroller devices. In July 2017, they were promoted to senior firmware engineer at Plantronics, where they continued to work on firmware development projects and collaborated with teams from different locations. Most recently, in October 2021, Jorge joined Joby Aviation as an embedded engineer.

Jorge Ortega obtained their Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana, where they studied from 2007 to 2012. In 2014 and 2015, they attended UC San Diego Extended Studies to complete a program and receive a certificate in C/C++ for Computer Programming. From 2017 to 2019, Jorge pursued a Master's degree in engineering and innovation with a focus on Information Systems and Technologies at CETYS Universidad.
