Joseph G.

Joseph G. has a diverse work experience, primarily in the field of software engineering. Joseph started their career at PMC-Sierra as an ESD Firmware Development Engineer Coop in January 2015. After that, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of California, Santa Cruz from December 2016 to June 2018.

In January 2019, Joseph joined Joby Aviation as a Software Engineer. In this role, they developed components of the software framework for Joby's fly-by-wire aircraft and worked on a high fidelity flight simulator. Joseph utilized modern C++ software engineering practices, focusing on object-oriented programming, SOLID design principles, and design patterns. Additionally, they were involved in Python and Docker tooling for simulator deployments and represented software expertise in interdisciplinary projects.

Joseph's most recent role at Joby Aviation is Integrated Vehicle Simulator Lead, which they started in March 2021. This role involves leveraging their previous software engineering experience to lead the development of Joby's flight simulator.

Throughout their career, Joseph gained experience in writing safety critical software and familiarity with DO-178C standards.
