Mark Van Bergen started their work experience in 2011 as a Mechanics Assistant at Northwest Aircraft Maintenance, where they assisted mechanics with various aircraft repair tasks. In 2014, they worked as an Engineering Intern at Volta Volare Corp., where they assisted the CEO and engineers with tasks such as website design and product development. In the same year, they also worked as a Student Library Assistant at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, managing the library and assisting students with finding resources. In 2016, Mark worked as a Tool Design Intern at Textron Aviation, designing production tooling for aircraft products. From 2017 to 2019, they served as an Education Program Manager at Hiller Aviation Museum, and since 2019, they have been employed as a Structural Engineer at Joby Aviation.
Mark Van Bergen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2017. Mark then pursued a Master's degree in the same field from Stanford University, graduating in 2019. Additionally, in April 2017, they obtained several certifications in CATIA V5 Associate - Part Design, CATIA V5 Associate - Surface Design, and CATIA V5 Mechanical Surface Designer Specialist from Dassault Systèmes.
