Mathieu Fregeau

Senior Mechanical Engineer at Joby Aviation

Mathieu Fregeau has extensive work experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on structural design analysis. Mathieu started their career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Bombardier Aerospace in 1997. Mathieu then worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney Canada in 1998. From 2008 to 2010, they served as a Structural Analysis Engineer at Sunrise Engineering LLC. Mathieu then joined Daimler Trucks North America as a Structural Analysis Engineer from 2010 to 2015. Mathieu then worked at Virgin Galactic as a Senior Mechanical Engineer from 2015 to 2016. Mathieu continued their career at Faraday Future as a Senior Mechanical Engineer from 2016 to 2018, before joining Joby Aviation as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in 2018. At Joby Aviation, their responsibilities include structural design analysis and finite element analysis of various components. Additionally, they were a board member at the Foundation for International Understanding Through Students from 2007 to 2011.

Mathieu Fregeau has a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington. Mathieu also holds a Master of Applied Sciences in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from École de technologie supérieure. Additionally, they have a Certificate in Modern Aircraft Structures from the University of Washington.
