Prior to that, they worked as a Software Developer and Project Manager at Dr. Neuhaus Mikroelektronik from July 1985 to July 1992, where they developed a data concentrator and worked on a Philips CT Controller project for XRAY image storage. At the beginning of their career, Matthias worked as a Design Engineer at SOFTAL, where they were involved in the design of surface treatment machines used in the printing industry. Overall, Matthias Kattanek has a wealth of experience in software and firmware development, with a focus on embedded systems and communication technologies.

Matthias Kattanek completed their Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Fachhochschule Hamburg, Germany, from 1980 to 1984.
