Nikunj Goel

Nikunj Goel has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Starting from 2017, Nikunj worked as an intern at Trinity Mobile App Lab Pvt. Ltd., where they played a crucial role in designing the architecture and optimized applications for clients. In 2017, they also joined Octro Inc. as a Software Engineering Trainee and later became a Member of Technical Staff. At Octro Inc., Nikunj gathered and reported game-related statistics, designed experiments and algorithms for revenue maximization, and collaborated on user behavior monitoring and feature learning to enhance average revenue per user.

In 2019, Nikunj joined the University of Pittsburgh as a Graduate Research Assistant. In this role, they worked on the PULSAR project, which aimed to build a system for automatically marking up human rights reports and identifying crucial information about violations and protections of rights. Nikunj's contribution involved identifying general aspects of human rights, specific violations or protections mentioned, judgment of those violations or protections, perpetrators, victims, tools or techniques used, and sources of information.

During their time at the University of Pittsburgh, Nikunj also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, where they played a key role in creating assignments, conducting recitation sessions, and clearing doubts for undergraduate students.

In 2020, Nikunj interned at UPMC as a Data Science Intern. In this role, they were responsible for binary classification of stress using smartphone sensor time-series and Fitbit data. Nikunj also researched and developed mobile sensing features to analyze user patterns for predicting alcohol consumption. Additionally, Nikunj built ETL-based data pipelines to extract data from UPMC's big data platform and transport it to data lakes for various research and business intelligence purposes.

Currently, since 2021, Nikunj is working as a Data Scientist at Joby Aviation.

Nikunj Goel obtained a Master's degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Information Technology at the Jaypee Institute Of Information Technology from 2014 to 2018.
