Richard Owens has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Richard is currently employed as a Systems Engineer at Joby Aviation since August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Northrop Grumman for two roles: On Call Software Engineer from June 2021 to August 2022 and Systems Test Engineer from June 2021 to August 2021. Richard was a member of the Mechanical Subteam at UC Santa Cruz Formula SAE from September 2019 to February 2021, responsible for designing and constructing mechanical systems for an electric Formula car. Richard also worked as a Master of Arms and MTB Instructor at Montecito Sequoia Lodge & Family Camp from June 2020 to August 2020. Richard served as a Student Auto Attendant at University of California, Santa Cruz Fleet Services from November 2019 to June 2020. Additionally, Richard worked as an Installation Crew member at SpeedPro East Bay from January 2016 to September 2019, a Volunteer Mechanic at The Bike Church from January 2019 to June 2019, and a Teaching Assistant at Alameda Arts from August 2015 to June 2018.
Richard Owens received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Baskin Engineering at UCSC between 2018 and 2022.
