FPGA Design Engineer at Joby Aviation

Stephan Papa has extensive work experience in hardware design engineering. Stephan started their career in 1980 with Amdahl/Fujitsu and later worked at Amdahl as a Hardware Design Engineer until 1993. Stephan then joined NetFrame as a Hardware Design Engineer, where they designed FPGA code for fault-tolerant super servers. In 1994, they moved to Micron Technology and Rendition, where they worked as a Hardware Design Engineer and created high-availability servers. Stephan also worked at Creative Labs Advanced Technology Center, where they served as an ASIC Design Engineer and later as a Hardware Design Engineer, designing graphic chips and audio chips. Stephan joined Oracle Corporation in 2011 and worked as a Senior Logic Design Engineer, specializing in Reset architecture and implementation for next-generation SPARC processors. Stephan also led the Programmers' Reference Documentation at Oracle. Currently, they are employed at Joby Aviation as an FPGA Design Engineer. In addition to their professional career, Stephan has also served as a Guest Speaker and Mentor at Cabrillo College in 2008.

Stephan Papa earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Connecticut. Stephan attended the University from 1976 to 1980.
